This is so cool! I hope it’s as good in real life as it looks in the video. I’m totaly going to download the ap and make a point to stop in at Starbucks in the next little while so I can try it out. It seems Starbucks is making an extra effort this year to promote its Christmas drinks. I happen to be in there on Sunday to meet someone for a school project and noticed they were offering 2 for 1 holiday drinks between 2 and 5 pm on 3 Sundays this month. It was absolutely packed full of people pretty much the entire time we were in there.

When it comes to the interactive app though, I wonder if regular people get as excited about this stuff as we marketers do? This seems like a really innovative idea and I am also curious to see which other companies will follow suit, but at the same time I am tempted to ask some of my friends to try it out to see how they react to it. It’s like QR codes, I think they are brilliant and have incredible amounts of potential for marketers but after reading a few discussions on the subject it seems that a large number of people still don’t know what they are or how to use them. I wonder what sort of feedback Starbucks will get on this app?
